The arts refer to the theory and physical expression of creativity including literature (drama, poetry, prose) performing arts (theatre, dance, music), and visual arts (drawing, painting, filmmaking, architecture, sculpting and photography).

Western Australian women have long been pioneers of business in this State. This category acknowledges their achievements and showcases how they have paved a way for women moving forward towards financial gender equity. 

Women have long-been a backbone of community. There are extraordinary women, doing extraordinary work to help improve the lives of other individuals and groups. This category recognises them.

Through culture people and groups define themselves. This category recognises the work and achievements of women in strengthening and supporting cultural beliefs, practices, and key messages. Celebrating our diversity and creating an inclusive community for all.

This category recognises women who have made it their life’s work to share their knowledge, skills, values, and beliefs for the educational benefit of other Western Australians so they may reach their full potential.

This category recognises women who have dedicated themselves to improving the state of the physical and mental health and well-being of others

Western Australia has seen some extraordinary sportswomen who have not only excelled in their chosen field both at home and internationally, but have gone on to inspire, motivate, lead, and change the way women’s sport is viewed, leaving a legacy for future sporting generations.

STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This category is for women who have left their mark in any of these fields, including technical trades.

The Roll of Honour posthumously acknowldeges inspirational women from WA's past, from traditional custodians of this land, pioneer women who made this country their new home, to modern trailblazers.
