Dr Roberta Jull (1872-1961)

Roberta Jull was the first woman to practise medicine in WA. She came to WA to work with her brother, also a GP, in Guildford. She married and had a daughter, writer Henrietta Drake-Brockman, in 1901. In 1917, after the death of her husband, Dr Jull became a medical officer for schools with the Department of Public Health. She spent much of her life fighting for women’s and children’s equality.
